Nickel and Cobalt Brazing Powders and Pastes

Nickel and cobalt-based brazing filler materials are generally used in applications where resistance to corrosion and heat resistance required. Their description as high-temperature brazing filler materials is amply justified.

The materials most commonly brazed with these alloys are the stainless steels as well as the nickel- and cobalt-base super alloys in vacuum and inert atmosphere furnaces.

Dispensing

Screen Printing
Binder developed for automated screen printing paste application.
Spraying
Thin layer of paste applied with spray air gun.
Roller Coating
Paste is applied on fins or structured plates by roller coating
Transfer Tape
Uniform layer of cast braze alloy and a binder wound in rolls with adhesive apllied one side.
 
9001 Used for high strength and heat resistant joints, for highly stressed sheet metal structures, and components.
9001A Similar to 9001 composition with low carbon content
9002 General-purpose filler metal with a relatively low brazing temperature.
9003 Chromium-free, relatively fluid filler metal.
9004 Similar to 9003, used for forming large, more ductile fillets and when fairly large gaps are present.
9005 Used for high strength and oxidation resistant joints for elevated temperature service.
9006 Free flowing alloy that can be used with most nickel and iron base metals, with minimum amount of erosion, and low chromium steels in exothermic atmospheres.
9007 Eutectic composition with extended flow properties at higher brazing temperatures. Used for the brazing of honeycomb structures, thin walled tube assemblies
9008 Filler metal for brazing very thin sections. Low interaction with parent metals and diffuse unlikely.
9009 Boron and chromium containing eutectic alloy with specialized uses primarily in aerospace applications.
9012 High chromium, boron-free alloy.
